Tryouts for the STEPS California program occur annually (in mid to late June depending on field availability) for a full year membership that begins in September. We do our best to announce tryout information with as much lead time as possible.  Based on our field providers, specific tryout dates/times will likely be announced in late January/early February.

Tryouts are mandatory for current and prospective players. It is critical that returning players are evaluated every year as it relates to the strength of the team as a whole and allows evaluators to directly compare new players, new dynamics, and identify other opportunities that would be difficult to understand without the full team on display collectively.  There is never a perfect time to accommodate everyone’s family vacations, camps, geographic convenience, desires and opinions and understand that this creates complexities, but believe that this makes it both fair and best for everyone in the long run.
